Hey everybody!When I was growing up the popular story book was The Wise Men of Chelm.It was originally written in Yiddish and it’s a collection of Ashkenazi tales.Are there are Sephardi tales?Is there a book and were they originally written in ladino?How about artists?Everyone knows Chagall (actually I can’t think of another ashkenazi artist 🤔…anyone?)How about famous Sephardi artist?
I have a question about names.In an Ashkenazi tradition you can’t name a baby after a live person but (as I understand) it’s not a taboo in Sephardi tradition.Anyone knows why?Also in Ashkenazi tradition if someone is very ill their (Hebrew) name will be changed.Is that the case in Sephardi tradition?
