The semicha awarded by Haham Gaster to Bernard Drachman in 1904
Found in the Falk Library at The Great Synagogue
In light of the interest in S&P silk tallitot, here is a picture of The Great Synagogue (Sydney) clergy in the 1920s or early 1930s. All are wearing S&P tallitot, or at least in the S&P style. This reflects a general S&P influence on English and Commonwealth Ashkenazim. Another example is leading services from a bimah towards the back of the synagogue and seats facing the centre, not the front.

Do S&P ministers every wear white robes or are they always black?
Robert Halfon MP, who has just been appointed a minister in the British Government, is a member of S&P in London, I believe.
