The Sephardic Diaspora 15 August 2017 à 21:03

I have been trying to determine whether the LDS films of Sephardi in Amsterdam are available online. I couldn't find them anywhere. I wrote to them. All the films, apparently, are listed as 'Index to Ketuboth' regardless of what they actually are. And the ones that I want are only viewable at the FHL library, of which there isn't one here.

Family Search is currently indexing a series of deaths and births in Amsterdam. Actually, all the deaths were in Auschwitz, so you can expect to find Holocaust death records there for Amsterdam (and a few I have seen for other town residents) eventually; there could be a whole bunch of them.

The lovely review, that Kevin Martin showed us today by Isaac Emmanuel, says that Isaac Aboab wrote a genealogy of the Aboab family which exists (or did when the review was written). Worldcat.org does not know what it is. In the review it was called, Comedia de la Vida y Successos de Josseph. Does anybody know where it would be?

I have another Cohen Henriques in my family, in Hamburg. Sara, Daniel, and Samuel Cohen Henriques are apparently the children of Ezechial Cohen Henriques. Sara married Daniel Namias de Castro in 1642 in Hamburg, which would make her birthdate perhaps 1615 or 20. Daniel, Sara's husband, is, of course, the son of Rodrigo de Castro, and his mother is Isabella Henriques. So they are all probably co...

I just found out there was a book (fictionalized, I think) of my ancestor, Vincente/Isaac de Rocamorra. I ordered it, of course. Any relatives out there?

This Abraham da Costa was supposed to have married Ester Abendana 23 Jan 1671 in Amsterdam. The banns are here, but where is the bride? I don't see her.

Thanks for approving me, Ton! I have a question about the New Sephardic cemetery in London. My gg grandparents were buried there. I read that it was covered by a highway and that it was bombed in WW II. What I want to know (I wrote Bevis Marks but nobody answered) is whether there were any pictures or records of the graves. My gg grandparents were Moses (d.1854) and Ribca (d.1864) Lopes de Le...
