An avid abolitionist and proponent of Abraham Lincoln and the Patriot’s cause in the War of the Rebellion then raging, the sermon Morais delivered at Philadelphia’s Congregation Mikveh Israel - Synagogue of the American Revolution was republished about a week later in New York’s The Jewish Messenger.I feel similar sentiments to when the Rev. Dr. expressed 161 years ago today.
