This is a photograph of Isaac Phillips (1812-1889) which I came across in our archives recently. He was a parnas of Shearith Israel from one of Shearith Israel's prominent families (a grandson of Jonas Phillips and father of Capt. N. Taylor Phillips.) He was also a grandmaster of the Masons. His apron was on display a few years ago and can be seen here: https://nymasoniclibrary.org/a-new-1790s-1850s-apron-exhibit-in-the-wendell-walker-lounge/;His home is still standing and can be seen here: https://daytoninmanhattan.blogspot.com/2014/04/the-1843-isaac-phillips-house-no-324-w.htmlI am not sharing this for any reason other than I love this photograph.Has anyone done any research into Jews in the Freemasons? Are Western Sephardim any more or less represented than other groups among Jewish Masons? If anyone wants to make use of this photograph credit should be given to the Shearith Israel Archives - and please contact me if you wish to use or publish it. Thanks
