Just found something I didn't know about (although some of you might). Searching for my relative George Ascoli on the 1939 UK Register, I found him at 4 Holmesdale Gardens, Hastings, listed as the Spanish & Portuguese Hospital (possibly a nursing home in view of its location on the coast). The list of residents makes interesting reading. Hope the images are clear. I have also Googled and found what must be still the same building.
