Pour le Fran莽ais, cliquez 锟紿ello to all,Welcome to 专讘拽讛 讚讜谞专砖讟讬讬谉, Joseph Alloul Marc Las, Renee Michele Payne and Armand Abisror who joined us this week. Thanks to the connections between the families already present on Geni and to the profiles YOU add, the family tree of Moroccan Jews will grow with many branches connected with each other. Today it reaches several tens of thousands of people. It's just a beginning! Here are some tips to help it grow (I will not mention the registration procedure).First get to know Geni and the editing of profiles. Check out some public profiles in detail by clicking right on "edit". the different entries to fill are:路 Title: example chief, Dr, teacher etc...路 First Name: do not hesitate to mention 2 Names (usual and formal)路 Middle Name: if any. In families with many members with the same first name, you can add the father's name (Ben or bat xx)路 Name: current name. For Men, this is where you indicate the last name; for married women, the spouse name路 Last name at birth: for women, maiden name; for all, birth name if it is different from the current last name路 Status: " alive " or " dead ". Geni will only record profiles with completed status. Important: the profiles of living people are always private and, thus, anonymous. They are accessible only by those belonging to the corresponding family tree. The first step is the most important:Create your tree on geni (with you as a starting point): add your spouse, your respective parents, grandparents, uncles and uncles, brothers and sisters, their spouse and if possible their parents. For each of the profiles added:路 Use the spelling of the first names that the person uses (or used for a dead person) or the most spelling common in Morocco. Variants are numerous and, unfortunately, research on Geni depends on the name spelling used.路 For Women, it is important to mention the maiden name (= last name at birth) and the spouse last name (= name).路 If the current name is different from the birth name, enter both names: the current name in the box " name " and the birth name in the box " last name at birth "路 Indicate the person status ("Alive" or "Dead"). For non living persons, make sure that their profile is "public". At the top of the form, in front of privacy, check "public". "Private" profiles of non living persons are less visible on Geni and cannot be merged in case of match with other profiles.路 Add the date of birth (Month / day / year) if you know it, at least the year of birth or, if you don't know it, the decade (by checking "approximately")路 Mention the city of birth (this will confirm the match between two profiles). Enter the first letters of the city of birth, Geni will provide you with a choice of places. Choose the most suitable. If you can't find any suitable place. Then mention only the country of birth. Here you are, you are ready to use Geni, to start your tree and to make our tree grow! Do not hesitate to contact me, Yaacov Yaakov Marrache Fischel or Guy Ohana Foster if you need help.Keep inviting members! The more we are, the easier the connections between families will be.Shabbat shalom
