I received today an interesting document from Anton Pinschof, a descendant of the Pereira-Arnstein family. It is a typed history of the Pereira family that refers to a long legal case following the death of Elijah Pereira in 1776. Can the case files be located? In the document it claims that Heinrich (Aron) Pereira (born 1773-4 in Amsterdam) who moved to Vienna and founded the Pereira-Arnstein family, was not (as he often claimed and as is recorded in Austrian documents) the child of Elijah Pereira and Hannah Machado, but rather he was a (perhaps illegitimate) child of their daughter Rachel. Can we verify this claim? The report also includes a family legend that the true father was an aristocrat.I should add that we tested a purported male-line descendant Michael Pereira-Arnstein in Austria and his y-dna, if I'm not mistaken, is Middle-Eastern in origin with no close matches, so looking typically Sephardic. But Adam Brown can correct me if I am wrong. We had a lengthy discussion of this family in 2020 at https://www.facebook.com/groups/TheSepardicDiaspora/posts/2645783639014594/And the Geni tree, a work in progress, is at https://www.geni.com/people/Heinrich-von-Pereira-Arnstein/6000000002764484878
