So, I've fallen into the rabbit hole that is Ancestry.com. But what a fall! I've found a record I've never seen before of our grandfather, Isaac Shemaria. It's the 1920 Federal Census from Los Angeles, listing his job as a "boot black" (aka shoe shiner; shoemaker) living with the Hasson family at 731 14th Street in LA. Does anyone recognize the Hasson Family named in the census that he lived with?? Someone said Al Shemarya might know?
