My maternal grandfather, Victor Benatar, born in Rhodes. His father was murdered in Halki when he was an infant. Later his mother remarried and went to live in Cairo, where he grew up. In 1948 he left Egypt for Leopoldville and started working for Solbena, the company created by Moussa and Salomon Benatar.
