My grandfather, Victor Benatar, born in Rhodes in 1906. In 1908, his father, Joseph, travelled to Halki with some gold. He was robbed and thrown at sea, and did not survive. Victor then grew up in Cairo where his mother remarried. In the first picture, he’s the 4th from the left, next to the palm tree.On the second picture, he’s on the second top row, the 2nd from the left.The pictures were taken in 1924
