The Portuguese Jews of Amsterdam kept meticulous track of their sepher tora's. Moses de Daniel Pinto asked in the month of Sivan in 1695 (1735) to be given the sepher tora that his grandfather Moses de Daniel Pinto had deposited with the Community. His sister Ester de Daniel Pinto consented in this. The sepher tora is then given to Moses de Daniel Pinto on condition that after his death, his sons will return the sepher to the community. The description of the sepher is very detailed and I think that this is done for purpose of identification. I wonder if - if the sepher was indeed returned - it still is in the collection of the Jewish Historical Museum in Amsterdam. Maybe the description might contribute to identify it. Hum sepher tora de ghivil, com paos de prato, com capade seda escura, com franges amerelas, sendal asmosin sinsenta.
