The Brotherhood Mishenet Zequenim (Support for the old) was established in Amsterdam in 1750 by twelve men: Joseph Cohen d'Azevedo, dr. Lopes Colaço, David Franco Mendez, Abraham de Raph. Mendes da Costa en Ishac de Crasto. The brotherhood provided housing and food to elder persons, later only men, aged above 60, first on the Weesperstraat (1750-1794), and then on the Herengracht, from 1794.Article 4 of the Statutes has a prayer for the founders, the treasurer and the brothers of this brotherhood. Nice way to address G'd: O Elementissimo Senhor. It's the first time that I see such a prayer included in Statutes. Are there other examples of such a prayer?
