The archives of the Portuguese Jewish Community of Surinam have been digitized and are available online for free. I thought these alphabetically arranged lists of birth of (male) persons which stretches from 1662-1723 and 1723-1777 would be of interest to many researchers. It was made in 1843, to replace the original which was handed over to civil authorities. As always with Portuguese indices, this one is alphabetical, according to given name. http://tinyurl.com/y87ompds Another list was made for the period 1777-1812, and was done by Hazan David Baruch Louzada, His handwriting is immaculate - see image. This list also records the birth of girls - see second image.http://tinyurl.com/yag7ew3d That list was partly duplicated in yet another list by D.B. Louzada, that also begins in 1777, but goes on the year 1866.http://tinyurl.com/y9psltno I do not know if these lists were ever transcribed. If someone knows if there is a transcription available somewhere, I would greatly appreciate if a link could be added here.
