## ***SEPHARDIC WORLD, SUNDAY 6 MARCH 2022***## ***WITH TON TIELEN***## ***THE SEPHARDIC ARCHIVES OF AMSTERDAM***## ***IN THE DUTCH GOLDEN AGE******Ton Tielen*** continues his review of the Portuguese-Jewish archives of Amsterdam, looking at Sephardim in the Dutch Golden Age.The Amsterdam archives are probably the most important resource for Sephardic genealogists, and Ton is an acknowledged expert on the subject. Ton will discuss the records between 1639 and 1728. The original three communities merged in 1639. The Esnoga was opened in 1675, marking the high watermark of both the Dutch Republic and the Jewish community. In 1728 the community reorganized itself. Ton will show and discuss records of the community's many charities, rabbis, parnasim, the relationships with Ashkenazim, and the community's international reach.*Ton Tielen *is a well-known personality in the world of Sephardic genealogy.
