On behalf of the board of the Society for Crypto-Judaic Studies, it is with deep sadness and regret that we acknowledge the unexpected passing of our dear friend, respected and esteemed academic, multi-accomplished colleague and SCJS senior advisor, Dr. David Gitlitz, historian, author and a leading light in the research of the worldwide study of crypto-Jews.
