## RESOURCES FOR SEPHARDIC RESEARCH IN ISRAEL## WITH ROSE FELDMAN## SEPHARDIC WORLD, 3 DECEMBER 2023Iberian Jews are recorded living in Israel at least since the Middle Ages. Israel is now home to the world's largest Sephardic community. As well as locally generated records, many documents from the diaspora have found their way to Israel, while archives from other countries - especially those in Hebrew - have been transcribed in Israel, often by the Israel Genealogy Research Association. For non-Israelis, especially non-Hebrew-speakers, this can be a difficult landscape to navigate. Our speaker this week, ***Rose Feldman***, has taken a lead in making these records accessible to a wider audience. Her talk will introduce us to the key genealogical resources in Israel.***Rose Feldman*** is in charge of developing new databases for Israel Genealogy Research Association [IGRA]. She has lectured at IAJGS conferences starting in 2003, at various annual seminars and branch meetings of IGRA and IGS, at the Israeli Association for Archives and Information workshop, and the genealogy workshop of the Central Zionist Archives. In 2017 she was the recipient of IAJGS Award for Volunteer of the Year. Rose was one of the three coordinators of the Montefiore Censuses Project. This meeting is on Sunday 3 December 2023 at 11am in LA, 2pm NYC, 7pm London, 8pm Amsterdam/Paris, and 9pm Jerusalem.
