## *Puzzle Time! *The new book by Jorge Patrão - 1677, *A Fábrica d'El Rei*. about cloth production in Covilha inspired me to do some research into the Henriques Ferreira family. In an earlier post, I revealed that Alvaro, one of the cloth manufacturers in Covilha, made his way to England where he remarried, and then to Amsterdam where he made his last will and died.In his last will Alvaro also used his new Jewish given name, Abraham, and made his brother Isaac Henriques Ferreira executor of his last will.Alas, we have no Portuguese-given name for Isaac. I found Inquisition files for five brothers Henriques Ferreira: Francisco, Joao, Diego, Alvaro, and Manuel (there was also a daughter Violante with a file, that has not been digitized). We know that Alvaro was his brother, he must have been one of the other four. (There were no other brothers). The first signature is from Isaac from 1724, the others are from 1703 or 1704 and have been taken from the Inquisition files. I have made my choice, can you too?
