Active Synagogues and Jewish Cultural Centers in PortugalJudaism in Portugal is generally conceived of as a single unit that only existed in the past. And although to some degree that is true, a revitalization of Jewish heritage in Portugal is currently underway. In recent years, Jewish culture has attracted increased interest in Portugal.There are several stakeholders in the Jewish cultural rejuvenation and heritagization process. This includes regional governmental staff, especially culture and tourism officials, foreign rabbis, the Israeli Embassy, Sephardic cooperation groups, public and private tourism operators, tourists, journalists and academic researchers.As such, I have created the below (non-scientific) list of active Jewish Synagogues and cultural centers throughout Portugal.
