Moadim L'Simcha There was recently a Mahloket in my community about how one should hold the sefer Torah after it has been dressed. The Lauderdale Rd way is to have the split in the Torah cover facing the person holding it. The front of the Torah should also face the person holding it and after the procession the sefer it is returned so that the split in the cover and the front of the Torah is facing the kahal in the Echal. The argument occurred because some found it insulting that the Torah faced the person holding/carrying it rather than outward towards the kahal. I am trying to get some clarification on this from a minhag and halachic perspective. Thanks in advance
