Does anyone have any leads on research illustrating how S&P communities in UK dealt with the influx of Ashkenazim in 1800s. For instance, the institution of the Chief Rabbi over the Haham, or the institution of Batei Din established by United Synagogue and Federation over the existing Bet Din of the Sephardim in UK. I appreciate there are books chronicling Jewish history in the UK but I am interested in letters, teshuvot, correspondence. TIA
