PORTUGUESE/SPANISH SEPHARDIC JEWS – HISTORY & GENETICSDear friends,First of all I would like to thank you for the amount of knowledge that I have been receiving from this group, excellent work William! (And many others!). As a geneticist at IPATIMUP, I have been doing my research on Portuguese Jews (and the descendents of Portuguese/Spanish Jews). I am working now on my PhD project where I intend to study the Portuguese and Spanish Sephardic communities founded after the Decrees of Expulsion from Iberia such as Amsterdam, London, among others. Although I am aware that this group is focussed on the Sephardic tradition, I thought it would be a very helpful way of contacting people that might be interested in participating in my study. So, I apologise in advance if you think this is not the place to do so. Of course, all the details concerning this project, like sample collecting or DNA markers will be treated only through my personal e-mail, and not here.
