Have we had a general discussion about Western Sepharaddim in Ottoman lands, and wherever they founded seperate congregations? I'm talking about people from European communities who kept a strong connection to European communities, and had synagogues seperate from other local Jews. For example: The Grana of Tunis and Susa, the Italian synagogue of Istanbul, the Portuguese of Izmir. Any others? I remember reading many years ago about a Portuguese synagogue in Egypt, but I can't find it anymore... It might have been about the Livornese Jews in Alexandria, but I can't find anything about a seperate synagogue there.
