In working on mapping documentable Sephardi presence in Norway before 1851, I came across "Moses Levi" and "Bernt Levi" and their "knekt" "Joseph", who came to Norway the summer of 1734 (and were arrested for being Jewish); and Moses Levi also in 1737 and 1739. It is claimed that at least Moses Levi came from Alkmaar, and they claimed to be Portuguese Jews. (Names given in the form they appear in Norwegian sources.) Anyone have any information or tips on how to find the information?
