The present recording is of the five Pesukim sung as an introduction to these Selichot. The provenance of this distinctive and haunting melody, reserved exclusively for the rendering of Tanachic verses during the penitential period is difficult to establish. Despite my best efforts, I have not been able to identify anything that might qualify as a cognate in any other Sephardi or Mizrahi tradition.Please like and share.
