https://youtu.be/pwfhVO8mDFY# Shuba Lim’onakh | AmsterdamLast week’s post in this series was the Amsterdam composition for Kohanekha, sung on Mo’adim, which accompanies the opening of the Hechal prior to the reading of the Parasha. In the interests of closure, this week's offering is that community’s festive musical treatment of Shuba Lim’onakh, the formula chanted once the Sepher is returned to the Hechal. An arresting curiosity that emerges from this recording is the unusual Spanish and Portuguese pronunciation of the שווא געיה (Sheva Ga'yah). Its articulation is identical to that of a Patach, so the word ונשובה - which most of the world pronounces ‘VeNashuba’ - is pronounced by Snogeiros as ‘VaNashuba’.Please like and share, and if you haven’t already, please subscribe to my YouTube channel.
