In a different group someone asked if Sephardi and Mizrahi Jews eat dairy meals on shabungot. One of the commenters (who has a Balkan background) responded with the following:“In North Africa it's a supposedly old custom to eat dairy couscous for the first meal. In the Balkans dairy is eaten too (sfongato, Sotlachico, cheese borekas).”Anyone here who can corroborate this, or knows more about this? And perhaps knows what used to be the custom in western Sephardi communities?
