This evening commences the Month of Ab which we will call from the 10th: Menahem. Many others start observing a period of mourning. We Iberian Israelites do not yet. For us that time starts after Habdalah, Saturday evening and will end Friday afternoon just before Shabbat Nahamu. We will not drink wine, eat meat, and not wear new clothes. We do not shave, if not required by work or if required to visit a head of state. We will not go to concerts that week. We must continue to observe normal rules of hygiene. So change your underwear daily and take showers as necessary.
