Continuing our earlier discussion about name changes, I searched for more Sephardic names that were changed to Dutch names. There are more than I thought! This is the result of a rather superficial search:-Henriques was indeed changed to Hendrix/Hendriks/Hendrixs in Middelburg, becoming one of the main Jewish families in that city. (Olve Utne)-Dias/Diaz was changed to De Haas in Emden.-De Lion/Leon became De Leeuw. (Tobacco traders in Amsterdam)-A Van den Bergh family in Antwerpen previously had a Portuguese name, I can only guess it was Delmonte ...? -Zuzarte in Amsterdam became Zwart. (Among my ancestors)-The Palache's who founded the Portuguese synagogue in Arnhem also went by Van der Zee. (Not sure if their descendants used that name)-A certain Berend Wolf used to be Medina. (Lobo de Medina?)Was just informed by Mr Benjamin Ricardo that:-Some members of the Azulay family were known by the name Blauw.and-Some of the De Valhe's changed their name to Van Daelen.
