I have a question . As I record the information on names and aliases from the Mercantile records of Amsterdam, I notice that many aliases took or retook the name Cohen. So my question is if there is documentation that the Crypto Jews knew and maintained their Kohen Status amongst themselves and if those that had a Cohen alias were actual Kohans.
