Del Sotto/Delmonte family of Amsterdam. Their ancestor who came from Portugal was known as Mendes Sotto (related to Sottomayor?). But where did the name Delmonte come from? Both are used in official documents, naming the same people sometimes Del Sotto and sometimes Delmonte. (At least one of them used Delmonte in translation as a Dutch business alias, "Van den Berg")
