A helpful book for all those searching Sephardic heritage is Genealogia Hebraica by Jose Abecassis published in Lisbon in 1991 I believe, which details all Jews born in Portugal and Gibraltar since the 1700s. In 5 volumes it transposes all details of births, marriages and deaths from civic and religious records for each individual. It also details family histories from before 1700 where details are known. In particular it traces Sephardic families in North Africa, Holland, England, Northern and Eastern Europe where evidence of Post Inquisition flight are known.
