People who have Jewish ancestors from Suriname, Curacao, or St. Eustatius should know that American Jewish Archives in Cincinnati has just catalogued and organized their numerous (20+) boxes of their "Jews of the West Indies" materials that were collected by Marcus on his trip to the Caribbean in the 1950s. These include copies of rare documents from Suriname, Curacao, and St. Eustatius that often difficult to get access to today in the originals (or in some instances the originals have deteriorated greatly since his trip). Huge shout out to historian Aviva Ben-Ur for helping them figure out what all these documents are. If you haven't been to AJA recently, it is worth a trip. Also worth noting that AJA has funding for people working on scholarly projects. They are updating the finding aid for the collection and it should be online soon. Also if you have never used Stern's database, check it out: http://americanjewisharchives.org/publications/fajf/search.php
