Thank you for accepting me. I am researching my late husband’s Sephardic roots. His mother was of Sephardi descent – family name Treves. I have managed to research and trace most of the Dutch ancestors and now would like to address the Venice connection. One of mother–in-law’s stories was a banking connection in Venice around 16th and 17th century. Research has produced the Treves Bank in Venice and the opening of a branch/counting house in London in the early 17th century. This also bought many interesting references to Pellegrin Treves (1733-1817) and his family who came to London to run the counting house in Fenchurch Street with a Joseph Treves (possibly Jochanan). I have been unable to find little or no personal information that I would be happy to assign to Joseph and therefore would be grateful for any advice or information to help in this quest.
