I'm doing research on my 7-great-grandfather, Don Menachem ben Chaim Ha-Kohen, and am wondering if anyone in this group might have more information about his life and family origins. It is said that he came from Spain to the Netherlands and then ended up in Germany, but we are now speculating about connections to Portugal and Italy as well. He lived from 1650-1723, according to his grave stone in Niederwerrn that was destroyed in the Holocaust. We'd really appreciate any ideas or information about our ancestor, including official documentation, converso records, or other Sephardic genealogy hints. Thanks in advance for any help...
