One and All a new discussion1492 some 400,000 of our people are expelled from Spain thats one story, more recently there are suggestions that the numbers were far lessWe use the date because of the 'Alhambra Decree' but I do wonder how many Jews were openly living as such at this time. My view the date should be 1391 the writing was on the wall and many got out, many converted, some could not leave but did later also I suppose it depended in which Kingdom they lived. For me 1492 is more about Ferdinand and Isabellas determination to create one Spain, one people one religeon. The Inquisition was set up to ensure the catholicism of Spain and its people both in belief and manner and to protect from the Protestant threat from the North
