Not directly relevant for this group. There is an exhibition in the Rijksmusemwith paintings by Frans Post. The paintings all date from the Dutch colonial period in Brasil (1630-1654. This is also the period that a large group of Jews - Sephardim for the most part, but also a few Ashkenazim - settled and prospered in the Northeast of Brasil. Frans Post was there with Johan Maurits van Nassau-Siegen from 1636-1643. The paintings offer a magnificent view of a fascinating time.
