I just learned that a second cousin of mine on my maternal great-grandmother's side has mtDNA type H2a2a (frequency in Norway supposedly ca. 4 %).I realise of course that this neither proves nor disproves anything as far as Jewish identity/ancestry goes (but there are plenty of family traditions of relevance there). My question is just: In what Jewish communities is this reasonably common? (Bragança in Northern Portugal (15,8 %) seems to be one.) [Source: www.nature.com/ejhg/journal/v23/n5/extref/ejhg2014140x2.xls]
