I came across this in Menasseh Ben Israel's 'Thesouro Dos Dinim' which reflects the attitude of Jews in Amsterdam to anoussim from a haham of the community."Os forçados, e são os que forão por força mudados a outra religião e vivem donde não podem observar a sua, posto que certiquem ser o seu vinho cacer, não são dignos de credito: visto que estes bebem vinho dos gentios. E sendo que estes obseruem ocultamente em sua casa tudo, e no publico viuão [534] por temor dessimulando a religião, fazendo todo o seu possivel por sahirse daquellas terras, e vir donde possão libremente observar a Ley, em tal caso, não prohibem o vinho tocando-o. Porem se ocultamente são tambem transgressores dos divinos Mandamentos, se reputão como propriamente gentios, e tocando no vinho, o prohibem.""The forced ones [anoussim], and they are those who were forced to change to another religion and live where they can not observe their own, since they claim their wine to be kasher, are not credible: since these drink wine of the gentiles. And if they observe everything in their house secretly, but in the public living with fear dissimulating their religion, doing all they can to escape from those lands, and come where they can freely observe the Law, in such a case, they do not forbid wine by touching it. But if they are in private transgressors of the Divine Commandments, they are reckoned properly to be Gentiles, and touching wine, they cause it to be forbidden."
