Friends, I have before me a Ladino translation of Tehillim from the mid-18th century published by Christian missionaries operating in the Ottoman Empire. I'd like to determine whether the translation they based their edition upon was from one made a century earlier by ר׳ אברהם בן יצחק אסא Rabbi Abraham ben Yitsḥaq Asa (also Assa), modifying certain verses like Psalms 22:17 according to their tradition.Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate a copy of R' Asa's Ladino translation of Tehillim anywhere. I'm not seeing it in Worldcat. (I know it exists... somewhere, since I've seen a Kedem auction listed for a volume that once contained R' Asa's translation of Tehillim.) Have you seen R' Assa's Ladino tehillim anywhere, in any public or private collection? All I need, I think, is a legible image of a few Psalms to largely confirm this thesis. If you have a lead on this, please let me know -- and thank you.
