Great news for Izmir, Turkey researchers from Jeff Malka of SephardicGen:In Paris, at the 1997 International Jewish Genealogy Conference Prof. Dov Cohen presented a list of names of 7,300 Brides and Grooms from the Jewish community of Izmir. The list was never published and was difficult to find.Good news: Prof. Cohen has just made available an expanded version of this list: 11,280 names, marriage ages, from 1820-1933.This new searchable database is at www.sephardicgen.com/databases/IzmirMarriages/and lists Surname, and Alternatives, Given Names and Aliases, Year of marriage, and Gender of individual.He has also made available the list of burials at the Gürçesme Izmir Cemetery, 1927-1928: www.sephardicgen.com/databases/IzmirCemetery/For both NEW databases, go to http://SephardicGen.com and click on the DATABASES tab.
