Hello everyone. I recently came across this open access article from Brill:Counting Couples: "The Marriage Banns Registers of the City of Amsterdam, 1580–1810." Although it is not geared for genealogical research, I thought it might be interesting for some. It gives a simple, brief explanation of the development of the marriage process in Amsterdam that may help in the understanding of the various types of marriage records in the pre-1811 period. I don't think I have seen it posted before,https://brill.com/view/journals/rdj/6/1/article-p1_2.xml
