# https://youtu.be/9UbX_8mguyM# Halleluyah - Ps 150 Rosh Hashanah | New YorkPsalm 150 has an obvious thematic connection with Rosh Hashanah. Within its verses are contained two of the key terms we associate with our annual Yom Hadin - ‘Shofar’ and ‘Teru’ah’.As well as being a day of judgment, Rosh Hashanah is also the anniversary of the creation of the world, whose enduring existence has been ensured by virtue of the 13 attributes of Divine mercy enumerated in Exodus 34.However, despite their relevance and undoubted aptness, our custom is not to express these attributes explicitly on a Yom Tob. Instead, on Rosh Hashanah we utilise the device of alluding to them via this chapter of Psalms, recited during Musaf and Arbit, where the word Hallel (in various forms) occurs 13 times. This recording is based on the style of Congregation Shearith Israel, New York, and may be described as a harmonised adaptation of the traditional penitential day recitative for the Amidah and Alenu Leshabe’ach. Please like and share.
