Has anyone researched the Portuguese origins of the LOPEZ family of Newport, Rhode Island, including Moses apparently born José and Aaron apparently born Duarte? Noa Ramos published a link several years ago. I see a lot of articles stating they "fled the Inquisition" but not seen source references. Not reviewed this file yet, but wondering if it is the same family. Hopefully someone already has some references.
