A variant was also the traditional Sukkot setting for that Piyyut in Congregation Shearith Israel until it was superceded by a no less delightful composition in the early 20th century. Despite this, the melody has happily not disappeared in New York. It continues to be used during Sukkot for the singing of Hallel and Kaddish.
