Dear Friends,Searching for Surnames in Cairo, Alexandria, Damascus, Aleppo,Baghdad and Beirut. I published recently the Beirut surnames index, the 6th index so far. Steve Morse has introduced a new application which enablessearching a surname in all those cities simultaneously. This is veryuseful mainly for Sephardic and Mizrahi surnames when one maybe surprised to see a surname in a city he did not think of. But there was also quite a number of Ashkenazi families in Cairo, Alexandria and Beirut. So, one can never know what he might find.
