Two questions about the Belinfante familiy: According to dutchJewry.org, Zadig Cohen Belinfante married Ester Cohen Persiano 1696 in the Ashkenazi synagogue, while his brother Joseph married his wife, Paloma de Minjana, in 1701 in the Portuguese synagogue. I wonder whether the reason Zadig was not married in the Esnoga was because his wife was not considered a Portuguese Jew, as her father was from Persia? Or because Zadig as a Belogrado was not yet considered a proper Portuguese Jew, but that acceptance came six years later, when his brother was married?Second question: According to Ets Haim Manuscript EH 47 B 06, at f. 89v-95v there is a short history of the family Cohen Belinfante. Has anyone translated this and is it in accordance with the origin story in EH 48 E 23, Geslachtkundige Tafel der geslacht van Cohen Belinfante?
