https://youtu.be/A1IVUxBqPKI# Elohim Eli Atah | London and New York Elohim Eli Atah, written as a Reshut to Nishmat Kol Chai by Shelomo Ibn Gabirol, is sung during Shachrit on Yom Kippur. Its 30 strophes take the form of an acrostic spelling out the full name of the Paytan ."אני שלמה הקטן ברבי יהודה אבן גבירול חזק"The construction of the Piyyut is fairly intricate. Each strophe is divided into two segments, the first beginning 'Elohim Eli Atah' and the second 'Bekori Aneni' and within each strophe (with the exception of the final one) the acrostical letter appears four times. In most Sephardi and Edot Hamizrach communities this Piyyut is sung either before Baruch She'amar or after Kaddish Titkabal. The Spanish and Portuguese community, however, adheres to the practice of singing it in the place intended by its author, immediately before Nishmat. This video is one of over 30 on my Selichot and Yamim Hanora’im playlist which you can find here.https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLvd3h2QBHjxRC5cGNlE_frXW2TGPzsIRqתזכו לשנים רבות נעימות וטובותתחל שנה וברכותיה
