Hello - once again out on the high seas , into my own voyages of discovery again, I have just found a new post in relation to an enquiry I had made to Synagogue Scribes last February , about some information that came to light on my gggrandparents Bevis Marks ketubot in 1874 in relation to the 'Marques Dower' and thought it might be of interest as Ive just found my enquiry was actually taken up by Kevin Martin a researcher at Bevis Marks. Sadly , Kevin Martin died in June last year but the information has been posted on Synagogue Scribes - as Kevin Martin did find the the 'Marques Dower ' was from the will of Diogo Rodrigues Marques ,which I understand is well documented. There is a little further information giving details of some Inquisition processes that have been found in relation to Diogo Rodrigues Marques grandparents and extended family and also the 'places' sited in the far North East corner of Portugal close to the borderers of Northern Spain and Leon that these families were located at this time.
