Le nombre de personnes toujours croissant qui nous rejoignent quotidiennement témoigne sans nul doute de notre quête de racines, mais aussi de notre attachement à une histoire commune et probablement à un sentiment d’urgence à préserver nos liens familiaux et nos coutumes séculaires. Urgence parce qu’ils reposent essentiellement sur notre mémoire collective qui se délite inexorablement et dont nous sommes probablement les derniers dépositaires. C’est ce sentiment qui nous a incité à créer ce groupe et à vous réunir ici. Car ce n’est qu’ensemble que nous pourrons parvenir à les préserver. Ce groupe s’est donné pour objectif de créer un arbre familial commun. Nous avons choisi de le faire sur Geni (https://www.geni.com), car c’est une plateforme généalogique collaborative, internationale et accessible à tous. Grâce au travail de chacun ici, l’arbre des juifs marocains sur Geni comporte probablement entre 250.000 et 300.000 individus. Malheureusement, en dehors des lignées rabbiniques, les ancêtres lointains (au-delà de 6 ou 7 générations) sont peu nombreux. Mais les liens familiaux se reétablissent et nous découvrons tous les jours une partie ignorée de la famille. Inscrivez-vous sur Geni, créez-y votre propre arbre. Lorsque ce sera fait, contactez-nous (moi-même ou Jacob Marrache) et nous tenterons de le raccrocher à l’arbre commun.
